Established in the early 1970s, Alta was founded as an electronic components distributor. From the beginning, the company has been ahead of its time bringing in the Italian scenario international brands such as Murata, AMP/TYCO (now Te Connectivity) and Vishay. Exactly this innovation stream allows Alta during the years to keep up with the times, carefully following the market changes and adapting constantly to the demands of old and potential new customers. As a direct consequence, important partnerships were built with Panduit, Phoenix Contact, Harting and Weller.

Today the company boasts a staff of 11 people and two offices, the main one situated near Florence and a strategic one in Bologna, which is essential to cover more accurately the needs of northern Italian customers. Over the years the variety of offered services has expanded considerably and currently the company competencies range from the distribution of electronic and electromechanical components, paying particular attention to connecting devices, up to the production of windings for the military, space and railway markets. Moreover, Alta offers completely customized design solutions to meet all customer needs as, for example, ad hoc connectors with the possibility of providing specific parts (cases, semi-finished…) both metallic and plastic obtained through injection molds or by 3D printing systems as well as the manufacture of custom battery packs.

To further expand its expertise and capabilities, Alta joined in 1993 a project called Consortium, which brought the products of large international companies to the Italian territory, together with the collaboration of other Italian distribution companies.
